At the end of October I returned to the Northern Institute of Massage for a two day training course with Professor Graham Smith who is a physiotherapist, rehabilitation and sports injury consultant based in Glasgow. The course was mainly practical and started with detailed examination and observation, moving onto movement and recording assessments. We were taught how to work on the vertebrae of the lumbar spine and learnt new techniques and mobilisations, some of which I have already put into practice with people coming for appointments with back pain.
